SPECIALTIES
Areas of focus
A deliberately focused practice. These are the areas where training and clinical experience let me be genuinely useful from the first session.
High Achievement, Pressure & Perfectionism
Success doesn't necessarily make life feel easier. High standards, perfectionism, difficulty switching off, and the sense that other people depend on you can turn achievement into a source of chronic pressure. Therapy can help you understand what's driving the pressure and develop a better relationship with work, achievement, and expectations.
Chronic Illness & Health Behavior
Living with a medical condition can change far more than your physical health. It can affect identity, relationships, work, independence, and how you think about the future. My background in health psychology includes work across neurology, cardiology, oncology, transplant, critical care, and chronic pain. Therapy provides a place to address the psychological side of illness without treating it as separate from the medical reality.
Generalized and Social Anxiety
Anxiety is persuasive. It presents avoidance as safety and rumination as problem solving, narrowing life a little at a time. Therapy can help you respond differently to anxious thoughts, tolerate uncertainty, and spend less of your life organizing around what might go wrong.
Depression
Depression flattens things: energy, interest, connection, and the sense that effort leads anywhere. We'll start by understanding when it began and what you've already tried, then work together to find small, realistic steps forward.
Life Transitions
Career changes, retirement, divorce, relocation, caregiving, a new diagnosis, or simply reaching a stage of life that doesn't feel the way you expected can unsettle your sense of direction. Therapy can provide structure for making sense of what's changing, what you're leaving behind, and what you want the next chapter to look like.
